Food For Thought!!

This Is A Collage Of Some Pictures Of Us Doing Food For Thought. We went to the work room this morning and we were learning about spring food. We Played This Very Awesome Game. It was a tasting game. We paired up and one of us was blindfolded. We went around the room getting slices of food and veges and they had to guess what is it.

I learned That Strawberry's aren't Berry's anymore because berrys are suppose to have one seed. But strawberry's have seeds all around them.

I tasted a lot of veges and fruits my favourite thing I taste was Strawberry's I ate 2 of them. It was so yum!!

The Great Chase!! (letter to Mummy)

Dear Mummy Eagle,

I am so sorry I didn't come to that special dinner we have every year. It’s because I never caught a treat for our dinner. Well let me tell you what happened,

I was flying up above the silent, light bluish sky, when I saw a delicious, Grey Squirrel, nibbling a nut. I mumbled to myself “that's his last nut he’s gonna have”. I swooped and landed on a tree brunch silently like a mouse, so he couldn't hear me. But somehow mummy, he started looking up the trees, like he knew someone was watching him. But then, I stood on my position…. I stared at him without blinking….  Finally, I flew down, flying with all my might, chasing him, and we had a big chase mummy Eagle. I flew as fast as I could and he ran as fast as he could with those tiny feet. (He’s so little how could he run so fast with those tiny feet??) Well any ways Mummy, I was flying, and he was climbing & jumping tree to tree. He was so fast. Then he ran and hid in his nest up in a tree. It kind of looked like a Bush with Golden leaves. I swooped and stood on a tree. Then I flew to the his nest and shook it. I shook his tree so hard that he came crashing to the ground. He landed with a THUMP!“ I FINALLY HAVE MY DINNER”! I thought.....And the thing that amazed me was, he didn't just lie down there, He stood up with his two feet and ran and ran and ran. I chased him….. He climbed an enormous tree, and suddenly he leaped to another tree. The tree was a little bit far, but he made it. That was the best leap I have seen… (WOW). Thats one lucky Squirrel. But…. “I'm gonna eat him”, I thought. I flew past the branches, but then… He ran to this little, Hole and hid over there, I sat on a branch and waited. And Waited, and waited, and waited. And he still didn't come out. So I just flew away looking for something else. But their was nothing…. That squirrel nearly got killed…. :( :( :( :( :(

Rainforest!

My Reading Group "The Giant Peaches" were studing about rainforests. We found out that rainforests were being destroyed for many reasons. And you can find these reasons by watching this slide. Hope You Learnt a Lot!!

Athletics!

This term we are doing athletics and this a Drawing of my goals for athletics. The one I really want to get into is the relay team. I am training at home and at school. I want to get into the relay team because I love sprinting and running. Hope I make it!

A.F.L

CROSS COUNTRY

WOOHOO THE CROWD CHEERED, You guessed it we had "Cross Country". We all had a fun time running and supporting other competitors. Everybody did well running and can you please give a big clap to them (CLAP CLAP CLAP). Congratulations to those students who came 1st, 2nd , and 3rd (KA PAI).

Everybody tried there hardest and congratulations to "Hanook" who came first in the "2 lepers" event. AND AFTER I RAN I WAS SOOO TIRED AND MY FEET ACHED, Maybe everyone was tired. Well we just had an awesome and an athletic day today. AND CAN YOU PLEASE GIVE ANOTHER CLAP TO THOSE STUDENTS WHO Competed. :D

Story Builder is an awesome web tool. My class loves it. We learned about "Speech Marks". We had a fun time using this "Web tool", and we learned a lot of stuff using this. We could put music in and add characters in it. It's a cool TOOL! (LIKE I SAID). On the bottom is a link to my "Story Builder'', and the a picture of the event. HOPE YOU LIKE IT :D

Main Characters: “Matilda is a very intelligent little girl. When she was little she always loved to read. Her ( step)parents always left her at home when she was 3 and then she would always walk to the library. She a smart girl and knows her 12 X tables when she was 4. SHE IS SO SMART!!” “Ms. Honey is Matilda’s teacher she is a sweet, kind, and she never gives up. You would want her to be your teacher because she always cares about you and she acts like a mother. But she’s going to be Matilda’s mum at the end of the book. Ms. Honey is the best she’s not really a high activity level, she would rather lie in bed and read a book. (SHE’S NOT SPORT DO NOT TELL HER THAT)

Synopsis of the story / text: Matilda is 5 now and it’s time for her to go to primary. But when she gets their she hears stories about the mean principal “Ms. Trunchbull”. The meanest person in the world. She’s a muscle women but she looks like a man. Ms. Trunchbull is not very kind like “Ms Honey” Miss Trunchbull's niece. She is a kind lady who is always helping Matilda……..

This illustration shows the part I enjoyed the most which was when …When Matilda’s school was back to normal. Nobody was ever scared again. They had a new principal named…… “Ms. Honey”....... And finally she could stay in the sun and play and REST!!!!

I recommend / do not recommend this book to others because …..  It’ a fun book and it can convince children to read more books and be like Matilda…..

Eat Your Words

On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday some students attended the "Eat your words" Event. We had a fun time playing games and tasting different types of food. And especially COOKING!!! It was the best part. We made some healthy burgers with chick peas. And we had some grocers. It was delicious. It would have been fun if we had other schools there. It was super dooper cool. Book Week

Last week we had an awesome week. We had a book week!!! M.R.S's librarian came dressed up everyday as a book character character. On Friday I came dressed up as Alice in wonderland. I really loved Mrs Percy's and Mrs Haydon's costume. Mrs Percy was a witch. She called herself the wicked witch of the west. Mrs Haydon was the paper bag princess. She had a paper bag as her costume. She had dirt on her face but it looked like it was coal. When we had the classes going around on the courts I was kind of bored sitting their doing nothing suddenly Mrs Percy came straight to me and scared me hard out. Everyone was looking at me and I really felt scared. Later that day the story teller told us a wonderful story but it was really funny. We had a nice day, and a cool book week.

The Person I Treasure The Most

My older brother Rodrick

The person I treasure the most is my brother Rodrick. He is the best brother you’ll ever have. He’s only 14 years old. He’s the oldest in my family and the one who takes care of me and my older sister. He’s always focused on my learning and always check if my homework is done. He is the best brother you’ll ever have.

My brother is a very remarkable huge teenager. He has big muscles that when you touch them they feel like a bunch of rocks. He is skinny because he always trains. Rodrick always wears white big singlets. You can see him and adore and like him. Like really like like him, But if you're a girl reading this and you think you like him just to tell you….. he’s already got a girlfriend. As soon as you see him he is AMAZING.

My brother is sometimes mean. But I like it when he is mean. Roderick always says he smacks me cause he love’s me. Weird right but I know that is true. He sometime helps me with my homework and is always a person who makes the right choices. He is so kind (well sometimes) and really funny. Roderick loves to make fun of me and my older sister and he loves to make joke’s.

My brother’s action’s are: That he loves to run run run. Everyday he run’s and every race he wins. He love’s to play rugby and league. He always wishes one day he can play for the All blacks. (A rugby team). I think my brother will really achieve that goal because he is always focused on rugby .He love’s to spend time on his phone. But gets carried away with it. My brother always train in the gym and loves to swim in the pools thats why he is strong.

I choose my brother because he is the man of my family. He has his own house at Tonga. It’s the house that I grew up in when I was little before I came to N.Z. When he was born my dad gave it to him as a 1st child present. One time my older cousin and his wife Paea came to live in it. They lived in it for 2 years and Paea got kicked out because my uncle died. My brother got angry of my aunty for kicking out Paea out of his house and demanded that my aunty to go back to her house and paea to come to his house. My brother is the boss and whatever he say’s about his house it happens.

The climbing wall

The Fearless Climbing Wall

As I raced around the green open field, I spotted the high fearless CLIMBING wall. Fear raced in to my body. Shaking with nerves I shook my head I wasn't ready. I started nervously thinking  that I was too young to die. My heart started pounding with crazy thoughts. Will I die?  Will I break any of my bones?  Still shivering, I wanted to force my mum not to let me climb up this terrifying Devil. At last I started thinking I must face this huge massive CLIMBING wall.

Tyler the man in charge told us about why we had to wear this kind of nappy called a harness. Then he taught my group about this rope called a belay that we must pull slowly and carefully so the climber can easily climb and be protected and how to lower the person so he or she can abseil down carefully. After that he needed 3 people to be the first to pull the belay I kindly put up my hand quicker than you can say, “hamburgers are tasty!” He choose me first and then 2 other boy’s. I was delighted and relieved that I wouldn’t be first on the wall. Jess was the first one on my belay rope who went first. She climbed higher than I have ever seen her do before. I was relieved. Suddenly she became scared and shocked she wanted to go down so we carefully lowered her down.

Then Tyler told me it was my turn. I was extremely shocked. My eyes widened and I was frozen but I knew i had to defeat this devil. I put on the helmet that tyler gave to me. He clipped on a clip attached to the belay and told me “ If you're ready climb tell your team”. “I’m not ready!!!!!!”, I murmured to myself. Finally I  said, “I’m ready“ to my group. I was persevering and past the black bit I was so proud of myself. I kept on going until I got to a part where my hands was slippery and it was hard to climb up. I looked down and my group looked like a group of ant’s wow that is so a long long way.

I tried to keep going but I couldn't. I heard Mrs melick shouting furiously to persevere. I tried to pull myself up but it was too hard. My heart was pounding, I was feeling like I would fall off and kill myself. I pulled me up with all my muscles and finally past the slippery part. I wasn’t at the top yet but I was tired and I was shaking. I shouted to my belay group, “ lower me down NOW please”. My amazing group lowered me down and I was finally at the ground. I felt like kissing the ground when Tyler clipped of the clip and when I took of the helmet but I knew that would  be too embarrassing.

I felt amazed and calmed down. I was so relieved that I finished  but … I didn’t know we get 3 turns! AAAAAHHHHHH!! I am not going on that thing again!!!!!!!
